Nakoa lives alone with her Australian shepherds in the mountains of Lake Chelan, Washington. She grows fruit trees on her land and sells the harvest at the local farmers market. Clementines are her favorite. She keeps her clementine trees in a greenhouse, where they stay warm even when the mountain air drops below zero. When she’s not tending to her garden, she takes her dogs to the lake to fish, hikes through the woods, picks wildflowers, and sleeps under the stars. She has built a life where everything she needs can grow.
