I painted this portrait especially for mothers nursing their toddlers. Of course I respect and admire moms who chose not to breastfeed or even decide to stop at a few months. The reasons why mothers decide to nurse, not nurse or nurse beyond infant years is no one's business. I nursed my youngest child until she was about 3.5 years old.

Weaning started way before that, but nursing at night lasted a while, and I was ok with that. I've had annoying comments from people that I know, and ! honestly didn't care what people had to say. Research shows there are many long term health benefits for mom and baby when nursing goes beyond the age of two. I named this painting "And still I nurse.
